A manâ??s guide to lingerie buying.

If a man decides to treat his wife/girlfriend/mistress to lingerie this Christmas it can be a minefield for him unless heâ??s experienced enough in how the system works?  Some men make it their business to know the correct size of their partner but others find it a nerve wrecking experience.  However it doesnâ??t have to be.

A few simple prior to purchasing steps and it can become an enjoyable experience.

Firstly, somehow you must find out your partners correct size.  The easiest way is to rummage through her underwear draw at home and look for a consistent size.

This also applies to her briefs. (Preferably when sheâ??s not around!)

The two main rules for bras are back size and cup size.  The back size is the measurement around her body under her bust, i.e. 30, 32, 34 ,36 etc, and the cup size is the actual breast size, ie A,B,C,D etc.

After determining this, look at the style of bra that your partner wears.  This can be anything from a balconnet shape, other wise known as a half cup bra, which suits the smaller bust size, through to a plunge padded style which creates more of a cleavage to the bust and finally, if she is bigger busted, a full cup bra.  Most of these styles are underwired, so do check that her bras are as these days you can buy some non-wired bras but generally not for the bigger bust.

Next, look at colours and fabrics.  Is she a pastel shaded girl or a confident bold print lady.  Does she prefer silk, lots of lace, or cotton for example.  All these points will make buying your lingerie a much easier task.

Next briefs.  Is she a thong, string, short or brief  lady.  Nowadays lots of women are verying away from thongs and opting for comfort with pretty shaped briefs.  Again, these can be high cut, hipster or boyleg, so look in her knicker draw to get an idea.  Thongs tend to be slightly wider at the back, and therefore more comfortable, than its counterpart, the string which as the name implies, is very skimpy.

From having done the above homework, you should be able to give all these details to your local lingerie boutique, who will be very happy that you have given them so much information, and select ranges for you to choose from.

Also, a man should also put his input into lingerie buying as a women will feel very complimented if she thinks that you like what she is wearing.

If all else fails and you find the whole exercise too daunting, then you can always opt for nightwear.  Todayâ??s nightwear can be equally glamorous and sexy ranging from short knee length chemises in silk and lace to full length silk night dresses with shoe string straps lace and side splits in sexy black through to Christmas red.  These normally are sized a lot easier, ie small, medium and large.  You can also add a matching nightrobe if youâ??re feeling indulgent.

Finally, if the store offers a gift wrapping service then jump at it, even if they make a small charge.  One you know they will make a better job of it than you, often using co-ordinating tissue, gift boxes and ribbon, and it saves you another job.

You never know after this exercise you might come to enjoy lingerie buying!

Nylon stockings are intimate accessories. This will look good before turning the lights out with the partner. But these things are usually worn under the skirt.

Some companies have this as part of the uniform code like nurses who work in the hospital. But many women choose to have it on because it looks good with the outfit. This is used either in the office or when wearing one of those short skirts to show off to men in a party.

Nylon stockings can either be until the ankles, a little above or below the knee. A good example could be the one from Christian Dior that is called the Thigh Highs. There are 4 sizes so this can be used for those who have small or big hips and costs $11.50 for each, which are available in only black and white.

Fredericks of Hollywood is also another brand that offers a variety of nylon stockings to customers. A good example is the two tone Cuban inspired heel stockings. It has a seam from the hips until the heel.

The only drawback is that this is only available in nude/black. There are other brands that offer this in other colors, which is worth checking out. It is available in small, medium or large and costs $12 per piece.

Nylon stockings are not only sold in the store but also online as well. This allows men to shop for that special someone without feeling awkward of going to the lingerie department and asking the sales clerk for assistance.

Having a sample or knowing the size of the partner’s hips will be a good idea to avoid returning and exchanging it for the right one.

Given the increasing demand of nylon stockings in the market, the woman can choose from a variety of colors and styles. Some will stay up by itself but those that don’t will require the use of a garter belt that has to be hooked to the girl’s underwear.

Most of the nylon stockings sold for women are in single packs. Some brands have promotional offers that allow the customer to save a few dollars when at least three are bought instead of just one.

Both men and women should take advantage of it because even if nylon stockings last long, these things will run due to wear and tear prompting the individual to again at the regular price.

Lets face it, we men are obsessed with women’s bodies and yet if I needed to tell someone the size of her breasts the best I could probably muster would be “just about right” and if she were to ask me right now what her dress size was I would probably mutter that it didn’t make her bum look big at all. This is in part due to my ever-present attempt to gain brownie points and not spend the night sleeping in the kitchen with the dog, but it is in one big part due to my ignorance. Ask her what size my waist is and she could tell you without a second’s hesitation. It really isn’t that difficult to find out this information either and the list of instructions on how to find out would consist solely of:

1 – Open cupboard door.

2 – Remove appropriate garment.

3 – Check label and make mental note of size.

Even my brain could cope with that first thing in the morning but despite telling myself I should do it I never actually remember to. This could partially be because there is something instilled in the back of my brain that tells me the second I remove her bra and start ferreting around inside it, her mother is bound to burst down the front door unannounced and catch me in the act of apparently sniffing, or worse still putting on, her beloved daughter’s bra. This really isn’t a situation I want to find myself in but if I want to please her (my partner, not her mother) then I should do it. In fact, every man should do it. Go to your wife or girlfriend’s closet and find out her bra size. Write it on a piece of paper and secrete it in your wallet if necessary.

Of course, even once I know the size of her bra that doesn’t make the actual selection any easier. As a general rule of thumb, I’m led to believe that a black latex nurse’s outfit is not considered to be either lingerie or indeed comfortable so I will try to steer clear of that as far as possible, no matter how appealing they look. I will try my utmost to ensure that whatever I buy will not only please me but will make my partner feel sexy as well. This should imply that she will be able to move comfortably and bits don’t poke out when she lifts an arm or tries to sit down, or more importantly lie down.

Visiting any shop that has lingerie in is bound to be a big deal the first time I try it but I’m a grown man and I should be able to cope. The sales assistant probably won’t think that the stuff I buy is for me unless I say something embarrassingly stupid and wear fake breasts. In fact, there’s a very good chance she’s dealt with people like me, and people like you, on a fairly regular basis. You know, the kind of person who skulks around by the knickers looking around shiftily and sweating a lot. In fact, come to think of it, it’s probably best if I don’t do that, and just head straight over to her instead. She will probably be very helpful.

I saw a sign in a lingerie shop that I passed three times the other day and it said they would gift wrap the item. I decided there and then that if I ever built up the courage to go in the shop and actually buy any lingerie, instead of keep walking past it, I would definitely take advantage of that offer. I think being confronted by me carrying a Christmas cracker wrapped present and a proud smile like your son or daughter gets the first time they pee on their own would probably detract from the overall romanticism of the gesture. Besides, I wouldn’t have to carry it home in a way that meant others might be able to see what I’d bought.

I can’t wait to finally see her wearing the new lingerie I buy. I guess the only thing that’s left to do now is actually find out her size and go and buy something appropriate, that is not a latex nurse’s outfit.
